I'm a wearer of many hats, UI designer, gamer, foodie, and creator. I design accessible, problem solving interfaces that improve the experience for users and everyone else. I'm always down for a new adventure or a day long binge watch of rom coms or horror movies.
I've been an asset on teams and I've led them at various stages of maturity from start ups to legacy software. I have a background in computer game development and have been working to design and build software for over a decade.
I spend the rest of my days exploring the latest video games, trying out and experimenting with new recipes, and obsessing over getting the most perfect synth sounds in Ableton.
I started getting into software design because I wanted to make video games. After realizing that there was WAY more to game dev than just programming, I learned as much as I could about all aspects of product development. I got my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Game Development from DePaul University in Chicago with a solid understanding of the entire process but fell in love with experience design and creating interactive interfaces. I still regularly do front end development on websites but my passion is in UI design.
I'm not just a "designer". My ability to problem solve at any and all steps of the process, I've become more of a generalist product designer. Rather than rely on design software, I find it easier to just quickly code interaction prototypes. I can create pixel perfect UI designs, but I spend ample preliminary time conducting thorough UX research. I've acquired SEO certification to better understand copywriting and help write copy that fosters a better user experience and clarity.
We currently live in a world run by technology and that isn't changing any time soon. As we evolve and adapt as humans, it's important to create experiences that are memorable, easy, and intuitive. I strive to bridge the gap between people and the products they use because without usable technology, all these advancements won't translate into an easier world for everyone.
